Winners of the first-ever Chocolate FRIENDzy Oct. 22 were Cheree Derry with her recipe for Peanut Butter Potato Chip Balls in first place and Cassie Baugh with Chocolate Caramel Bars. Derry’s prize was the book Inside Charlie’s Chocolate Factory. Baugh won the movie “Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.”
The come-and-go event featured seven tables with various chocolate treats for sampling and recipes to take home.
Event chairs Amy McGinn and Bonnie Silbaugh were pleased with the event. “We signed up more than 25 new members and spread the mission of the Friends of the Jefferson Library, which is to support and promote the library,” Silbaugh said.
A recipe book containing all the event’s recipes is available at the Jefferson public library. “The contest was a close one and we thank all participants and look forward to next year,” Silbaugh said.
